Today I explored making some mini sugar cookies in the shape of butterflies. I used Williams and Sonoma's sugar cookie recipe. I have made royal icing before, but it was always with egg whites. I wanted something edible, and found this royal icing recipe with meringue powder at University of Cookie. My cookies came no where near as beautiful as what they do on cookie sites. Maybe I will try again tomorrow and post a before and after shot of my butterfly sugar cookie creations. I need practice, practice, practice.
It is my last week of summer before I go back to work to a new group of kindergartners. I have not had the time to create as I would have liked, but I am planning to start again! :0) So in the process of finishing up my classes at NSU, preparing for a wedding, and getting ready for a new class, I might as well attempt a blog.
This summer, I got together with some creative friends and shared my stamping and scrapbooking goodies with them. I am wondering if I have created any monsters? This sharing process with them allowed me to browse through other sites and blogs. I enjoyed creating some fun things!! Well since this is practice, I will go ahead and post.
Welcome!! I am an individual that loves to create and learn new things. This blog is a place for me to share my creative endeavors as well as some of my favorite things. If you frequent Splitcoaststampers, you may have encountered me as tturtle. Click HERE for my papercraft gallery there.
